Jannik Sinner advanced to the China Open final on Tuesday after a 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) victory over Chinese wildcard Bu Yunchaokete. The world No. 1 will face Carlos Alcaraz in the final, marking a clash of two rising stars.

Sinner, who has been dealing with the fallout from a doping controversy, showed resilience in front of a supportive Beijing crowd. His opponent, Bu, gave him a tough challenge, particularly in the second set, where the match went to a tie break. Sinner eventually sealed the win with an ace on his third match point.

Bu, ranked 96th, had impressed by reaching the semifinals, and his aggressive play pushed Sinner throughout the match. However, the Italian’s experience proved decisive, allowing him to take control and book his place in the final.

In the other semi-final, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3. The Spanish player has been in dominant form, reaching his first China Open final without dropping a set.

Sinner’s triumph comes as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has appealed the decision to clear him of doping charges. The case stems from a positive test earlier this year, though Sinner has maintained his innocence, citing accidental contamination. The final will take place on Wednesday in Beijing.
