Akim’s Gears Up for Olympic Debut
Malaysian sprinter Akim makes his Olympic debut in Paris, aiming to advance in the 100m event at Stade de France.
In the men’s 100m preliminaries at the Paris Olympics, Malaysia’s sprint star Akim’s prepares for his first Olympic appearance.
He will compete in the 100m event at the iconic Stade de France. Akim’s is the national record-holder for the men’s 100m (10.09 seconds) and won the bronze medal in the men’s 100m at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. Earlier this year, in April, he clocked his season-best time of 10.24 seconds in the United States.
Akim’s arrived in Paris last Monday and reported that he has adjusted to the weather conditions and that everything is going smoothly. He emphasized that he will remain composed before the competition, avoiding any extreme displays and focusing on executing the approach he has practiced all year. His main objective is to survive and advance.
Akim’s is the first Malaysian sprinter in 24 years to compete in the Olympic 100m, following his predecessor, Hua Seng, who ran at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
