KUALA LUMPUR: The elderly woman found inside a freezer in Taman OUG died from blunt force trauma to the chest, according to preliminary findings from a post-mortem.
Police Updates on the Investigation
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed the cause of death in a statement on Thursday (Nov 21). “Chest injuries resulting from blunt trauma were determined to be fatal,” he said.
Progress in Statements and Evidence
So far, nine statements have been taken to aid the investigation. Comm Rusdi noted, “We are awaiting the full post-mortem report to establish the timeline of events.”
Suspect’s Detention Timeline
The suspect, discharged from the hospital on Nov 20, is now in custody at Brickfields police headquarters. He is expected to remain detained until Nov 26.
Alleged Murder and Subsequent Discovery
Earlier reports suggested that the victim was killed three years ago by her son, who hid her body in a freezer. The suspect reportedly alerted authorities to the body’s discovery.
