Seres Group and Li Auto Plan European EV Debuts as China Demand Weakens
Seres Group and Li Auto plan European EV debuts in 2027 as China demand weakens. Discover how Chinese automakers expand globally amid domestic competition.

Sluggish car-buyer demand at home is pushing Chinese electric vehicle makers to look further afield, with Seres Group and Li Auto both preparing to enter the European market in 2027, following the trail blazed by BYD and other Chinese brands already operating on the continent.
Seres Group showcased its Aito 9 model at the Paris Motor Show in October, signalling the company’s intent to establish a foothold in Europe. Li Auto is similarly preparing for its continental debut, according to the report published on 7 November 2026.
The two companies are among the latest Chinese automakers to pursue overseas expansion as sales stall in their home market, mirroring a strategy already adopted by larger rivals seeking to offset the pressures of a fiercely competitive domestic industry.
