Deputy public prosecutor Zulfadzly Hassan argued that Marhizan Johari displayed no regret, citing his “peace” sign during remand proceedings as proof of indifference.

Bail Denied Despite Offence Being Bailable

Public attention around the viral accident footage influenced magistrate Mohd Harith Mohd Mazlan’s decision to deny bail. The next mention of the case is set for Jan 24.

Charges and Legal Consequences

Marhizan faces charges under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries severe penalties. He denied driving recklessly on Nov 13 at Jalan Kebun Sireh, Bukit Mertajam.
