Trailer Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash in Penang
A fatal crash involving a trailer in Penang led to the arrest of the driver. Authorities are seeking help from witnesses.

Penang police arrested a 51-year-old trailer driver after his container fell onto a woman’s vehicle, killing her at an intersection on Jalan Bukit Tengah on Wednesday, Nov 13.
Investigation Under Section 41(1)
ACP Helmi Aris from Seberang Perai Tengah police confirmed that the driver is currently detained under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for further investigation.
Preliminary Screening Results
Initial alcohol and drug tests on the driver returned negative results. However, authorities will request a remand order for him at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate Court on Thursday.

Details of the Incident
The deceased was Lee Zi Rou, 21, who was driving to work in a Perodua Bezza when the trailer lost control. The container fell onto her car, killing her. Five other vehicles were also damaged. Meanwhile, Tan Chou Theng, 25, suffered serious injuries in a separate vehicle.
The Sequence of Events Leading to the Crash
The accident took place around 9:30 AM. Five vehicles and a lorry were stopped at a traffic light on Jalan Kebun Sirih. Suddenly, a trailer coming from Jalan Bukit Tengah attempted a left turn. It lost control, and the container fell onto the stopped vehicles, triggering a chain reaction. Three cars and a lorry were also involved in the collisions.
