Johor Immigration Raids Lead to 75 Arrests in Crackdown on Illegal Workers
75 undocumented migrants were arrested by Johor Immigration in two enforcement operations targeting illegal workers.
Johor Immigration Arrests 75 Foreign Nationals in Major Crackdown
JOHOR BARU: The Johor Immigration Department has detained 75 undocumented foreigners in a large-scale enforcement operation spanning two days at multiple locations in the state.
State Immigration Director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus stated that the detainees, arrested during operations conducted on Tuesday (March 4) and Wednesday, were predominantly Myanmar and Indonesian nationals.
First Raid Conducted at Pandan Wholesale Market
“The first operation was carried out at 3pm in the Pandan wholesale market area, a well-known hotspot for undocumented workers.
“During the raid, 20 premises were inspected, and 66 individuals were questioned. Following the inspections, 35 people were found to be in violation of immigration laws and were arrested,” he announced on Thursday.

Johor Immigration Additional Arrests at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya
The second phase of the operation took place in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya at 12.30am, where officers inspected nine business premises and screened 64 foreigners.
“Following the checks, 40 more undocumented individuals were detained,” he added, noting that the operation was initiated after multiple complaints were received from the public about illegal foreign workers.
Nationalities of Detainees and Next Steps
The detained individuals comprised 30 Myanmar nationals (including nine women), 30 Indonesians (including 19 women), 11 Bangladeshi men, two Pakistani men, and two Vietnamese men, all aged between 18 and 55.
In addition, seven individuals were issued notices to assist with investigations. The detained individuals have been sent to the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot for further processing under immigration laws.
