KUALA LUMPUR: Floodwaters across Malaysia have displaced 106,505 individuals as of Friday night (Nov 29), with Kelantan and Terengganu facing the brunt of the disaster.
Kelantan’s Flood Crisis Deepens
Kelantan reported 72,360 evacuees, a dramatic increase since earlier in the day. Pasir Mas, with nearly 24,000 displaced, remains the hardest-hit district. Rising water levels in key rivers, including Sungai Lanas and Sungai Kelantan, have worsened the situation.
Terengganu’s Growing Challenges
Terengganu has also seen an increase, with 24,754 evacuees. Besut accounts for nearly half the total, while authorities warn of further flooding in low-lying areas.
Updates from Other States
States like Kedah, Johor, and Perlis are reporting rising victim numbers, while Perak’s situation remains stable. Authorities confirmed three flood-related deaths and urged continued caution.
